Quentin went to Washington, DC in June to visit with Republican members of the House of Representatives to discuss the report by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights opposing the Akaka Bill. As a former member of the Hawaii State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Kawananakoa strongly disagreed with the majority report and pointed out to Republican House members the many erroneous conclusions made in the commission’s report.

Quentin was also present at the June 8 gathering of supporters for the Akaka Bill on the U.S. Capitol West Lawn.
